Employee Spotlight: Carly Alcala

As the 2024 year begins, COLSA is committed to pursuing a new year full of possibilities in all areas of the company, and this includes welcoming new team members to COLSA. Carly Alcala joined our Communications team as the new Corporate Communications Manager in November of last year.

Before her career started, Carly was a student at Maryville College in East Tennessee. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in English. Since then, Carly has gone on to have a fulfilling career that has involved working with a diverse clientele. Her experience includes communications, writing, project management, content management, and marketing management. Whether working with a nonprofit or a defense contractor, Carly always strived to exceed customer expectations.

In her Corporate Communications Manager role at COLSA, Carly aims to increase brand awareness, spotlight our talented team across all locations, and implement effective internal communications processes for better employee engagement.

As she begins to adapt to her new role, Carly is excited to work with a group of professionals that truly care about COLSA’s future and growth. She told us, “I have the honor of building upon COLSA’s 40-year customer-centric legacy by creating a strategic internal and external communications plan. I’m lucky to be joining such a passionate group of professionals!”

Outside of work, you can find Carly spending time with her husband, Ben, working out, reading books, exploring the Rocket City, or walking her Great Dane/Doberman mix named Esther. She also serves on the board for the American Advertising Federation of North Alabama and is busy planning for the American Advertising Awards ceremony happening this February!
