Giving Back – How COLSA Supports Community Care

At COLSA, our values illuminate our commitment to the community. Through teamwork, integrity, a dedication to customer satisfaction, and—most importantly—an emphasis on people, we’re able to innovate solutions today for the problems and limitations of tomorrow.

Our culture fosters a crucial work-life balance that allows our team members to reflect on the important things in life. As we strive to manufacture the future of data science, systems and software engineering, and machine learning, we’re also dedicated to our communities where we work, relax, and raise our families.

We believe that a sense of community is more than important—it’s vital. That’s why our team members exemplify our values both in the office and beyond it. Given a chance each holiday season, COLSA team members come together to give back to the local community in meaningful and powerful ways.

This year, as in years past, COLSA employees have teamed up with two remarkable local organizations making a difference in Madison County. Together with the Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound (CASA) and the Foster Children’s Alliance (FOCAL), our team members work and give to provide a little extra joy where it’s most needed in the community.

Through a partnership with CASA, COLSA employees “adopt” over 30 area seniors living homebound and remotely from their families. Each senior fills out a holiday “wish list” with items they want or need, and COLSA employees all too eagerly provide, but the care demonstrated by our COLSA family doesn’t stop there.

The Association of COLSA Employees (ACE) regularly volunteers for meal deliveries and maintains close ties with area seniors. Some even keep up regular holiday correspondence with the seniors they’ve met throughout their service.

Together with FOCAL—a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children in foster care—COLSA employees strive to deliver a little holiday magic to area children in need.

Over 30 children filled out their own holiday “wish lists” for COLSA employees during this holiday season. Each employee sponsors a gift for a foster child while also providing something more—unconditional community compassion.
