COLSA Employee of the Year Awards

People, integrity, teamwork, and customer satisfaction—these four values have guided COLSA since our inception 40 years ago. Our greatest assets are the men and women who walk into our offices every day and continue to exceed expectations.

With appreciation, we congratulate our Employees of 2019:

Manager of the Year – Tom Economy

Tom Economy found time to oversee four evaluation programs for the Missile Defense Agency. Tom established a presence for COLSA at Futures Command, served as a hiring manager for multiple positions across seven geographic locations, and established strong professional ties with the Government customer. Together with the COLSA IT department, Tom initiated an efficient communication mechanism across various sites while also establishing the first accreditation capability for one of COLSA’s largest customers.

Engineer of the Year – Brian Meadows

As an aircraft cyber test engineer, Brian Meadows developed new T&E disciplines in real-time while exceeding customer expectations with his resourcefulness and dedication. Weeks after being hired, Brian took on a groundbreaking cyber test effort as both program manager and lead penetration tester. By developing and troubleshooting new methods for aircraft cyber T&E, Brian saved multiple efforts and delivered maximum value to COLSA’s customers. Brian also found time to pioneer a prototype aircraft transponder test capability, resulting in significant cost savings for the customer.

Employee of the Year – Kathryn Cowan

Since starting with COLSA, Kat Cowan has demonstrated the highest degree of excellence. In 2019, Kat led proposal efforts to expand COLSA’s reach and influence. Kat was instrumental in both selecting and organizing projects with her expert writing skills and a keen eye for opportunity.
