Social Butterfly, Trisha Mace, Shares Why She Chooses to Grow Her Career at COLSA

Trisha Mace is COLSA’s Talent Acquisition Partner for our Cyber and Information Warfare division along with our Uncrewed Systems division. She partners with our incredibly talented (and nice, as she points out) hiring managers for various contracts in locations across the United States, including Huntsville, Alabama; Orlando, Florida; Tampa, Florida; Quantico, Virginia; and Ft. Meade, Maryland. Together, they find the best and brightest candidates to meet mission needs.

“My day to day starts with my hot chocolate or vanilla latte 😊, reviewing incoming applicants, prioritizing managers’ hiring needs, and connecting with future COLSA employees through various recruiting outreach.”

Like many of our COLSA employees, Trisha is always looking for ways to grow in her skills. This past year, she acquired her certification through AIRS as an AI and Sourcing Recruiter.

Trisha’s Superpowers

Part of what sets Trisha apart is her willingness to socialize with others and make connections: “I believe in creating relationships, talking one on one with everyone, getting to know my managers, and taking a few minutes out of my day to help a future COLSA employee.”

Her main superpowers? Kindness and working under a deadline: “I always try to be kind – kindness matters! I also truly like working against a deadline!”

Christina Guthrie, Talent Acquisition & HR Systems Manager at COLSA, is Trisha’s manager, and she shared with us why Trisha is such an amazing team member:

“Trish has been a member of our Talent Acquisition Team for nearly four years. She provides incredible support to both our Uncrewed Systems and Cyber/IW divisions, and she does it with a level of care and partnership that truly sets her apart. She doesn’t just “process reqs” or “post and pray”- she builds value-added partnerships with her hiring customers and takes the time to truly understand what they need and not just what’s written on paper or in a SOW/PWS.

She shows up every day with a bubbly, always-smiling energy that makes working with her a joy. And she’s an exceptional ‘sourcer’ – finding talent in places others might overlook, picking up the phone and doing the extra work it takes to connect the right people to the right roles. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our team and as a colleague! 💙”

Public Relations Helped Trisha Find Her Way to Talent Acquisition

Trisha has a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in art and design from Northern Michigan University (Go Wildcats!). She began her career in Healthcare, Consumer and Lifestyle Public Relations in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, she learned how to pitch news stories about athletes and celebrities to different TV stations, radio stations, and online outlets.

From there, she transitioned to hotel sales and events and then later found her way into recruiting.

“I believe my time in PR helped shaped me to be a better recruiter.”

Why COLSA

From her interview, Trisha says she was incredibly impressed with how meeting with the team felt so personable, like having a conversation instead of being peppered with questions. Before coming on board, Trisha did her research on COLSA, particularly our Information Warfare division, which intrigued her.

“COLSA has been supportive through challenging times in both my personal and professional life. COLSA truly cares about its people. I’ve been here almost 4 years and love it!”

Fun Facts

Some things that make Trisha uniquely her:

  • Recently, she got back into running and completed a half marathon
  • She played ice hockey growing up and continues to be a huge ice hockey fan

Some last words of advice from our stellar Talent Acquisition Partner:
