Meet Our Experts Behind The Solutions

Jay is COLSA’s Director of Data Science and AI Programs and leads our Intelligence Community business. He has over 20 years of military and private sector leadership experience in Strategic Planning, Project and Program Management, Information Technology, Business Development, Data Science/Artificial Intelligence research and business growth, and Information Assurance. He is driven by the challenges in solving complex problems across multiple domains leveraging recent advances in technology, building business opportunities, and leading teams of the best and brightest data science and AI practitioners.

Jay earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Science in Computer Science from The George Washington University. He is an Adjunct Lecturer for AI courses at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and is pursuing a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama. His current areas of research include Trusted and Ethical AI, Knowledge Graphs and Graph Theory, and Scientific Machine Learning (SciML).

Rachel is a Data Scientist at COLSA. She joined the company recently and is passionate about solving impactful and unique problems at the intersection of data science and scientific fields such as physics. Rachel earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and a B.S. in Applied Physics from Purdue University and recently graduated from the University of California, Irvine where she earned her PhD in Physics.

While earning her doctorate, her area of research was in the nano-regime and she is looking forward to applying the knowledge gained throughout her education to emerging areas of artificial intelligence such as Scientific Machine Learning (SciML).

Conner is a Data Scientist at COLSA, with a background in Neural Network Development.  He is excited by the new and challenging puzzles he faces every day and is determined to produce NLP and CNN models that will not only solve the problems but also provide new, unexpected insight.

Conner graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. His interest in Vector Fields and Rings, as well as Category Theory, is driving him to pursue a Master of Science in Mathematics,  which will help him leverage Modern Algebra and Functional Analysis to develop even more effective Artificial Intelligence.

Elissa is passionate about creatively finding innovative and robust solutions to complex problem sets. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Since earning her degree, she has immersed herself in applying data science techniques to real-world problems supporting various Department of Defense organizations. As a Senior Data Scientist at COLSA, Elissa enjoys utilizing and expanding her skill set every day to answer her customer’s most challenging questions.

Jake is a Machine Learning Engineer at COLSA, who joined the company in 2020. He is passionate about digging into machine learning research to solve engineering problems.

Previously, Jake earned a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University, where he also completed graduate coursework in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Deep Reinforcement Learning. His current areas of research are Computer Vision and Signals Processing.
