“The
coolest thing about my job is the
satisfaction of seeing something fixed,
seeing the customer satisfied and
know that I was part of the reason
something important was able to get
done.” -- David

I love my job here at the ARC,
because in the past at other jobs, I never actually
saw any of my work completed. Here, I can get
my requirements, provide assistance and actually
see the results of my work during a test exercise.
I know that I’ve helped somebody to communicate
and accomplish something important. And it’s all
about doing important work. I get to make changes,
provide assistance and allow for events to happen
that can help our country in war-time situations.
I mostly enjoy it because it’s something different
every day. It’s not just a monotonous job. I have
a flexible schedule, and I work with a great group
of people.
I see my job as making sure the ARC is connected to the world. This is done by the computer networking that allows people to connect from across the room, across the street and across the world. I support MDA projects in conducting tests and playing war games both in-house and across the country. These project staff members need to communicate with each other from different locations in order to simulate actual war-time situations, and I take directive from them and ensure they are able to send classified and unclassified information back-and-forth along the Internet.
